
Sean O’Brien has been passionate about architecture his entire life, growing up immersed in the industry at his parents’ architecture firm. As CEO, Sean directs the overall creative and aesthetic vision at O’Brien Architects, leading a collaborative team that transforms client goals into dynamic and meaningful projects. His leadership style fosters trust, creativity, and innovation, drawing inspiration from mentors like his father, Jack O’Brien, and visionary artists such as Retna, Olafur Eliasson, and Tomás Saraceno.
Since taking ownership of the firm in 2019, Sean has guided O’Brien Architects through challenges like the pandemic, achieving record growth, strengthening its cultural identity, and building lasting client relationships. Under his leadership, the firm has delivered award-winning projects, including The Star in Frisco and 12 Cowboys Way, and earned recognition as a “Best Place to Work.”
Outside of work, Sean is an avid mountaineer, traveler, and art collector, continuously inspired by the world’s landscapes and creative expressions.
