Michael Mewhirter

Michael Mewhirter is a Project Manager at O’Brien Architects, known for his vibrant energy and deep passion for the built environment. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Michael’s childhood dreams oscillated between becoming a farmer or a pilot, inspired by his family. However, his path led him to Architecture, where he has made a lasting impact. 

Despite the challenging period during the 2009 recession, when many in the industry left, he remained dedicated to his craft and continued to build a career centered on his love for creating meaningful spaces. Michael is driven by the belief that every day is an opportunity to learn or teach something new. 

Outside of Architecture, Michael spends a lot of time with his immediate family and challenging himself to learn new hobbies. He is particularly passionate about SCUBA diving. When he’s not diving, you’ll likely find him with his wife, Lorelei, relaxing by the pool.
