O’Brien Architects is proud to partner with Presidium on the Presidium Cotton Mill project, an ambitious mixed-use development designed to blend the historic charm of McKinney, Texas, with modern urban living. Set to break ground in mid-2024, the project spans approximately 28 acres. It aims to revitalize the area by introducing approximately 200,000 square feet of Class-A office space and over 1.2 million square feet for multifamily residences.
Reflecting McKinney’s rich heritage, the development is poised to feature four multifamily buildings, offering around 1,200 apartment units adorned with luxurious amenities, including state-of-the-art fitness centers, co-working spaces, and townhome-style artist lofts. A significant emphasis has been placed on creating vibrant public spaces encouraging community engagement through events, retail, and food and beverage establishments.
Central to the project’s vision is integrating public spaces designed for versatility and community connection, spanning roughly three acres. These areas are envisioned to host various activities, from concerts and markets to family-friendly gatherings, enhancing McKinney’s appeal as a year-round destination.
O’Brien Architects, Presidium, and the McKinney community are committed to honoring Cotton Mill’s legacy while fostering a dynamic environment supporting the city’s growth and prosperity. This collaboration underscores a shared dedication to architectural excellence and innovative design that respects historical context while embracing the future.
