DSV offers services to 6 continents from its offices and facilities in over 90 countries. So when they chose Lancaster, Texas, as the first United States location to house all three DSV divisions (Air & Sea, Road, and Solutions), it was no small choice.
The one-million-square-foot building houses some of DFW’s most complicated distribution facilities, while its 48,000-square-foot office building offers world-class finishes. A project this size makes us thankful for long relationships with a great team like EMJ Construction.
This project is the first facility of its kind for DSV in the US market. The main challenge was to design and build this million-square-foot logistics facility and a three-story office in under a year. The DSV team requested maximum daylight through their office floors to complete the project, with as few obstructions as possible.
We worked closely with the structural engineer and construction team to eliminate interior columns to create an open floor plan from the glass exterior across the space. In addition, we designed a unique arrival experience for a grand exterior entrance with an interwoven stair and ramp as the main standout feature.
The DSV and project team were pleased to celebrate our ability to create a clean design and keep a tight schedule.
We want to give a special thank you to Stefan Schwanebeck at DSV, Phillip Crissman, Cody Shultz, Shell Bucker at EMJ, Ed Kepner at Panattoni, and David Riddle at Hunt & Joiner.
Thank you to our architects at O’Brien Architects: Lorelei Mewhirter, Mario Ramos, and Caitlin Huston.
